Infrared sauna, steam room, Turkish bath, therapy pools — all included as complimentary resort amenities courtesy of TheLifeCo.

Generous free time built into the schedule — to rest, reflect, or simply do nothing in one of the world's most peaceful settings.

St. Lucia is renowned for its diving, snorkelling, and natural beauty. The island itself is a destination worth exploring. Local activities available independently — not part of the program.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Inner Stability Is a Foundational Asset

Impact From Within is a curated, destination-based experience for family office professionals, impact investors, philanthropists, and high-net-worth leaders who recognize that inner stability is a foundational asset for long-term effectiveness, well-being, and regenerative impact.

Clarity Under Pressure
Clarity Under Pressure

Sustainable impact depends on more than strategy and capital. It depends on the capacity to think clearly and act decisively in complex, high-stakes environments.

Effective Energy Management
Effective Energy Management

Sustained pressure without recovery creates compounding costs. Leaders who understand energy management as a performance discipline consistently outperform those who don't.

Steady Presence in Complexity
Steady Presence in Complexity

The capacity to remain grounded and present in difficult environments is not a soft skill — it is a core leadership competency, and it is trainable.

Regenerative Impact
Regenerative Impact

Leaders whose inner state is regulated make better decisions, build stronger relationships, and create more enduring impact across every dimension of their work.

The quality of inner growth directly shapes the quality of outer impact.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF RETREAT

Yes, It's a Retreat. But Not a Passive One.

If you’re looking for a genuinely restorative destination retreat — you’ve found it. St. Lucia, world-class spa, unhurried pace, stunning nature. This experience is designed to restore and renew.

And it goes further. Impact From Within layers in rigorous Neuro-Somatic Mindfulness training, curated Forum for Impact dialogue, and structured leadership reflection — so that what you take home is not just rest, but tools, clarity, and an ongoing practice.

The best of both: a destination worth the journey, and a program worth your time.

THE METHOD

Neuro-Somatic Mindfulness™

Developed by Fleet Maull, PhD

NSM is a neuroscience-informed, deeply embodied leadership performance system. Unlike conventional mindfulness, NSM integrates real-time nervous system regulation with executive leadership application.

The Three Pillars

01 · Neuroscience

Grounded in leading research across interoception, attention science, stress physiology, and neuroplasticity. Every practice is evidence-informed and performance-targeted.

02 · Somatic Awareness

Using the body as a continuous real-time feedback system — detecting stress, reactivity, and cognitive overload before they impact decisions, communication, and leadership.

03 · Nervous System Regulation

Training the capacity to shift internal states under pressure — from reactive to clear, from fragmented to focused — in real time, without external tools.

What You'll Learn
Regulate your nervous system in real time
Improve clarity under pressure
Reduce reactivity and emotional noise
Make better decisions in complex environments
What You'll Practice
Guided NSM immersive sessions
Somatic awareness training
Precision breathwork and regulation
Leadership presence and reflection
What You'll Leave With
Greater cognitive clarity and focus
Emotional regulation under pressure
Stronger leadership presence
A daily practice you will actually use

SCIENTIFIC FOUNDATION

Scientific Foundations of Neuro-Somatic Mindfulness

Research suggests that enhanced interoceptive awareness — the body's ability to sense itself from the inside out — is associated with greater capacity for emotion regulation. NSM is grounded in this research, training practitioners to develop deep internal awareness as a foundation for self-regulation. Craig (2002, 2009) Nat. Rev. Neurosci.; Critchley et al. (2004) Nat. Neurosci.; Farb et al. (2013) Soc. Cogn. Affect. Neurosci.; Gross (1998, 2015) Rev. Gen. Psychol. & Psychol. Inq.

The NSM approach is informed by research on attention and self-regulation. Unlike traditional biofeedback requiring external devices, NSM trains practitioners to use the body's own sensory feedback as a regulation system — a skill developed through consistent practice over time. Jha et al. (2007) Cogn. Affect. Behav. Neurosci.; Tang et al. (2007, 2015) PNAS & Nat. Rev. Neurosci.; Lutz et al. (2008) Trends Cogn. Sci.

Research on mindfulness-based interventions indicates that sustained practice can support a shift toward more automatic self-regulation — reducing the mental effort required to maintain focus and presence. This retreat introduces the foundational practices that support this longer-term development. Kabat-Zinn (1990) Full Catastrophe Living; Goyal et al. (2014) JAMA Intern. Med.; Good et al. (2016) J. Manage.; Goleman (2013) Focus.

NSM draws on research in stress physiology and trauma-sensitive practice to support the gradual expansion of what researchers call the window of tolerance. Participants are introduced to embodied tools designed to support this development — with the understanding that meaningful nervous system change occurs through ongoing practice. McEwen (2007) Physiol. Rev.; Porges (2011) The Polyvagal Theory; Sapolsky (2004) Why Zebras Don't Get Ulcers.

The NSM methodology integrates classical mindfulness and compassion training with current neuroscience research. Impact From Within introduces this framework; the depth of its benefits develops through continued engagement. Davidson & Begley (2012) The Emotional Life of Your Brain; Goleman (1995) Emotional Intelligence.

FORUM FOR IMPACT

Impact Dialogue Series

Curated, intimate conversations among global leaders on the most consequential challenges of our time — extending the Forum for Impact experience into the retreat setting.

Session 1
(The Core Concept: Radical Responsibility)
Navigating Impact Fatigue: Reclaiming Agency in a Complex World

It is increasingly common for investors and philanthropists to experience a sense of nihilism when faced with systemic gridlock and bleak climate metrics. The opening of our journey addresses this fatigue head-on. Fleet Maull will introduce a framework for reclaiming personal agency—shifting our focus away from the friction of broken systems and redirecting it entirely toward our own strategic leverage.

Session 1
Session 2
(The Core Concept: Neuro-Somatic Mindfulness)
The Physiology of Leadership: Calibrating for High-Stakes Decisions

High-level decision-making under pressure demands more than intellectual capacity—it requires nervous system regulation. This session explores how somatic awareness and mindfulness-based self-regulation practices directly enhance cognitive clarity, emotional resilience, and leadership effectiveness.

Session 2
Session 3
(The Core Concept: Mindful Self-Acceptance)
Facing the Data: Staying the Course When the Outlook is Bleak

When confronted with sobering realities—climate projections, systemic inequality, governance failures—the natural response is often withdrawal or cynicism. This session provides tools for maintaining clarity and commitment in the face of difficult truths, building the inner resilience needed for sustained impact.

Session 3
Session 4
(The Core Concept: Bearing Witness)
Facing the Data: Staying the Course When the Outlook is Bleak

The practice of bearing witness—remaining fully present to both the beauty and the brokenness of the world—is a foundational leadership competency. This session explores how leaders can hold complexity without being overwhelmed, building the capacity to respond rather than react.

Session 4
Session 5
(The Core Concept: The Zen of Family Dynamics)
The Architecture of Legacy: Emotional Intelligence in Family Governance

It is increasingly common for investors and philanthropists to experience a sense of nihilism when faced with systemic gridlock and bleak climate metrics. The opening of our journey addresses this fatigue head-on. Fleet Maull will introduce a framework for reclaiming personal agency—shifting our focus away from the friction of broken systems and redirecting it entirely toward our own strategic leverage.
